Q: Are hair accessories in? If so, which ones?
A: Fine headbands are still working for me and are great for a bad hair day too! As are flat headpieces – like a headband but feature a subtle cluster of gems, beading or diamante on one side. But we’re not talking ‘tiara’ like. The band has to attach right to the head. Otherwise a bouncy and shiny ponytail is a good option too!
Q: Do you rate your hair more important that your jewellery?
A: My hair definitely. If it isn’t right, there is no way I can step out and feel confident about how I look. Jewellery of the other hand, well, if you forget to put it on, you can pretend you are having a simple, ‘jool-free’ day.
Q: Why is hair an important element to your total look?
A: If you hair looks shiny, well-groomed and looked after, it can only offset and enhance the rest of your style look.
Q: What is the hottest look this winter?
A: This season is all about accessories and dashes of colour, interspersed with very basic black wardrobe pieces – whether it’s a killer pair of shoes, handbag or maybe a new and rejuvenated hairstyle. Indulging in something like any of these will perk up your ‘older’ wardrobe pieces without having to outlay more bucks for an entire new look.
Q: How do you make your hair the focus of your outfit?
A: By keeping your clothing choices simple and smart, or youthful and edgy, a great hair style or colour will offset and enhance an outfit that may be a bit on the boring side. Next time you’re in the salon ask your hair stylist for some quick, simple styles you can create at home.
Q: Which celebs are really getting it right at the moment?
A: Katie Holmes (simple and elegant), Victoria Beckham (on the odd occasion), Rachel Zoe, Jennifer Aniston, Sienna Miller, Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, Michelle Obama, Cate Blanchett and model Agyness Deyn.
Q: Which celebrities are renowned for using their hair as the focus of their outfit?
A: Victoria Beckham, Rachel Zoe, Nicole Kidman, Olsen twins, Gwen Stefani, Pink and Elle Macpherson.
